  1. Overview
  2. The search box at the top of every page lets you search by keyword and returns results in the form of graphs. As in the other search interfaces, data returned is limited to that which you have permission to view.

  3. How Does Search Work
  4. The Search box takes a keyword or phrase. It auto-suggests words as you type. In the background, any special characters in the word(s) are escaped and wildcard characters are added to the front and end. Both the auto-suggest and the search itself query the following data fields in HTSEQ:

    • Sample, Assay or Dataset Name
    • Sample Tube Identifier
    • Organism
    • Description
    • Design Type
    • Owner
    • Performer
    • Tag
    • iLab Service Id

Search results are presented in the form of graphs. Nodes in the graph which match the search term are filled in. You can click on any of the nodes to see their detailed page. If more than one graph is displayed, a secondary "filter" field will allow you to narrow your search further.

  5. Troubleshooting
  6. If your search returns no results, try limiting it to a single word or phrase and then use the filter option to refine the search. Boolean searches are not currently supported. The presence of special characters may sometimes cause a search to fail. If you are not successful with a search for data which you know exists, please let us know! One alternative in this case is to select Display My Graphs, then enter your search term in the filter field. Or use the other search interfaces from the "Search" menu.
